Empathy, the key to communicate

Expressing our ideas accurately to other people is not always an easy task, when we transmit information in any of our circles, aspects that are within our heads have to be taken into account: previous learning, historical context, previously assimilated concepts or even the feelings we have when communicating. That is why on many occasions it is not enough to be clear about the idea that we want to convey so that it is correctly assimilated by the other, it is necessary to take a step further and this has to do with a known but little practiced word: Empathy.

What is in our hands to be able to communicate in a good way to others?

We can start in the first place, from remembering that communication happens in two ways and therefore being aware of asking for constant feedback on what we are transmitting and confirming that the message is indeed being clear in both directions, in a sentence: ensure that you are making yourself understood.

A second good practice when communicating is to organize our content in sections, on many occasions we have many ideas in our heads and seek to “communicate” everything as quickly as possible and this only gives the feeling of disorganization for the receiver, that is why it is better Split content into small blocks information to be digestible for the other person.

Remember that these points may seem like a “common sense” but we can say that this is the least common of the senses, if you want to take your communication to the next level, organize your ideas and be empathetic with your collaborators.
